log4u Privacy Policy

log4u is a personal project notebook for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, developed by Ömer Meşebüken. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Your project content

Project names, notes, todos, ideas, decisions, references, selected photos, and voice recordings are stored on your device. When iCloud is available, project content and attachments sync through your private iCloud database so you can use them on your other devices. The developer does not have access to the contents of that private database. Text capture drafts and app preferences are stored locally on each device.

log4u does not require a separate account. iCloud syncing uses your Apple Account and depends on your iCloud settings, available storage, and connection. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

No advertising or tracking

log4u contains no advertisements, advertising identifiers, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs. The developer does not sell your data, track you across apps or websites, or operate a server that receives your project content. Built-in AI text generation and recommendations are disabled in this release.

Voice recordings and transcription

Microphone access is requested when you record a voice note. With your speech-recognition permission, log4u can transcribe recordings using Apple's Speech framework. Depending on the device, language, and service availability, audio may be processed by Apple's speech services rather than entirely on your device. Recordings and transcripts that you save become part of your project content. You can deny or revoke microphone and speech permissions in system settings and continue using text notes.

Photos and files

You choose which photos or documents to import using Apple's system pickers. log4u does not request unrestricted access to your photo library. Selected photo and recording attachments are stored with your notes and may sync through your private iCloud database.

Project import, AI instructions, and exports

Project import reads the file or text you choose and lets you review it before creating a project. Copying or sharing the import instructions does not automatically send your log4u notes to an AI service. If you choose to use another AI service to prepare an import, that service handles what you provide under its own terms and privacy policy.

If you export or share project content, the exported file becomes a separate copy. You control where it is saved and who receives it; the destination's privacy practices apply.

Links and network requests

Link previews and links you open may contact the referenced website. That website may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, according to its own privacy policy. This is separate from advertising or tracking by log4u.

Purchases and diagnostics

App purchases are handled by Apple. log4u does not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide the developer with aggregated store reports and crash or diagnostic information according to your Apple privacy and sharing settings. The app has no custom analytics or crash-reporting service.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can edit and delete project content in the app. Deletions also apply to synced copies when iCloud sync completes. Removing the app does not necessarily remove content stored in iCloud, device backups, or exported files. You can manage iCloud storage and backups through Apple's system settings, and delete exported or shared copies where you saved them.

The developer cannot retrieve or delete the contents of your private iCloud database on your behalf. If you contact support, your email address and the information you choose to send will be used to answer your request and retained only as needed for that purpose or to meet legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive project content unless it is necessary for your support request.

Children

log4u has no in-app age gate and is a general-purpose productivity tool. It does not include public posting, social networking, advertising, or features designed to collect personal information from children. If a child sends personal information to support and you would like it removed, contact the developer below.

Security and changes

log4u uses Apple's app sandbox, local storage, and iCloud services. Keep your device and Apple Account secure. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. If the app's privacy practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date.
